Eight small earthen diyas, packed as two sets of four, each filled with soy wax and flower petals. Deepmala means a row of lights, and eight is the right number for one: up the stairs, along the balcony ledge, or on both sides of the main door.
There is no oil to top up and nothing to scrub off the floor the next morning. Light them, leave them on a steady surface, and enjoy the evening.
