Sage Green Marigold Mulmul Quilt

Sage is the color Rajasthan turns in the hour before sunset, not green, not grey, something in between that the landscape borrows from the dry scrub and the old stone. In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, block printers press this tone into mulmul cotton using carved wooden blocks and marigold motifs drawn from the jaali patterns of palace architecture. The quilt arrives lighter than you expect.

Hand-block printed in Sanganer using the carved teak block tradition, this mulmul quilt carries marigold forms across a sage green ground, the motif was drawn from the pierced stone screens of Rajasthan's havelis, where the pattern plays with light and shadow. Mulmul is the finest grade of Indian cotton: gauze-weight, woven for maximum breathability.

This quilt is the one you reach for on a cool night under the ceiling fan or when the AC is running at full strength. It layers well under heavier covers in winter, works alone in the summer months. The sage deepens with washing.
